Crafted with blue and ivory twine, our Christopher baptism candles draw from nature’s gentle hues—offering a joyful nod to a sacred new beginning. Candles are wrapped in blue and ivory sisal twine and accented with a grosgrain ribbon bow. This design can be purchased as a set (One 24” Lambada and Two 17” candles) or individually in both sizes. The 24” candle has a 1.5” diameter. The 17” candles have a ¾” diameter. Candles burn at the rate of approximately 1” per hour and are smoke and drip-resistant. These hand-dipped taper candles are created from a blend of superior-quality paraffin wax with a pure cotton wick for a slow and calm burn. In a Greek Baptism, the godparent (“nonos” or “nona”) holds the large candle. The 17” candles are small enough to be easily held by children or any other participant going around the font. The larger candle is lit for the three consecutive Sundays following the Baptism, when the newly baptized receives Holy Communion.
