Perfect for fi nishing Japanese knives sharped above 4000 grit. Chromium Oxide is a progressive gradient sub-micron to several-micron blend Japanese-made chromium oxide at approx 8000 to 15,000 grit mix compound in a water-based paste. This mix of chromium oxide has variety of abrasive particles formulated for the sole purpose of deburring steel. The strop can be cleaned with soap and water to refresh it before adding new or different compound or if it gets dirty/greasy from being in a kitchen. These strops are incredibly durable and long-lasting and will survive years of daily use. When applying compound, apply a thin layer to cover the whole surface and let dry before use.
