Best in full sun and fertile, moist but well‑drained soil, they produce a long display from late August into autumn; regular deadheading helps extend the flowering season. Compact forms typically reach about 40cm high and wide, making them easy to place near the front or middle of a mixed border and useful for cutting. To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height.
