The Churra were brought to the Americas in the 16th century by Spanish settlers. The Navajo in particular took to shepherding and relied on the fleece for weaving, which provided the basis of their economy. Where was the Navajo Churro wool, spun into these skeins, sourced from? Cedar Mesa Ranch in Dolores, Colorado, by our friends Andrew and Kendra Schafer. These shepherds’ management philosophies are based on understanding and acting with cycles and relationships found in nature. The Schafers believe that every decision they make must benefit the animals and the land. Find out more about their incredible work at cedarmesaranch.com. Huck & Rae Fiber Studio yarn is hand-dyed in small batches with professional acid dyes. By Nature, each skein of hand-dyed yarn will have unique characteristics but closely resemble the listing photos. CARE: Handwash in tepid water with a gentle detergent. Lay flat to dry. Please note, some color bleeding may occur during the first couple of washes. Red, purple, magenta, and blue-based colorways are more prone to bleeding. This is normal and will subside after a couple of washes. PHOTOS: All photos are taken using a professional camera and lighting equipment. Photos may be lightly color-corrected to display each skein's truest colors and shades.
