Fresh, ripe red berries with a touch of forest floor on the nose. Robust flavours of red and black cherries, a pinch of spice and some smooth tannins, definitely punching above its modest Vin de France classification. The grapes for this come from two parcels of vines, with an average age of 30 years, located in Travaillan, west of Gigondas. The grapes are hand-harvested and destemmed, followed by a short maceration in concrete for the Grenache with the Carignan being aged in five-year-old Burgundy barrels to round out the tannins.
