Cecilia, born in Karatina, Nyeri County, was the youngest of six siblings. Raised in a small-scale farming family, she was fortunate that her parents prioritized education, allowing her to reach class 7. Determined to build a better future, she pursued sewing, hoping to support herself and her family.At 23, Cecilia found love, got married, and was blessed with two children—a boy and a girl. Life was filled with joy and hope until tragedy struck when her husband fell ill and eventually passed away. Left to care for her children alone, she made the brave decision in August 1973 to relocate to Isiolo in search of a fresh start.Settling in Bula Pesa, Cecilia relied on her sewing skills to provide for her children. However, life took another difficult turn when her health started to deteriorate. She was diagnosed with hypertension and arthritis, making it impossible for her to continue working. As her condition worsened, her children—struggling with their own hardships—were unable to support her. Alone and unable to provide for herself, Cecilia faced an uncertain future.It was during this time of despair that she learned about Mama Ibado Charity. Desperate for help, she reached out to the organization and was welcomed into their Seniors Feeding Program. Since then, she has been receiving monthly food rations that have been a lifeline, ensuring she no longer has to worry about where her next meal will come from.Cecilia is deeply grateful for the kindness and support she has received.
