Cinnabar is a striking color. Striking glasses are those which, when in their cold state, do not display their target color. They must be fired and held at 1225 degrees for a period of time before reaching that target color. In its cold state, Cinnabar may appear very muted gray/brown with streaks or variation in color density. When fired, it will mature to a reddish cinnabar color and appear slightly dappled. Contains sulfur and may react to copper bearing glasses. Slight reactive potential to lead bearing glass.
