Cis-3-hexenol and its ester Cis-3-Hexenyl Acetate are the two most important green chemicals in the perfumery palette. Both chemicals are naturally exuded by grass as a a type of d efence against cuts and so in combination they produce that characteristic odour of newly trimmed lawns. Cis-3-Hexenol can be dosed higher than its acetate and it is a wonderful way to add natural greenness to floral notes or to simply add a lovely green nuance to a scent. Owing to the high strength of this material we also offer it pre-diluted to 10% in DPG. Fragrances featuring Cis 3 Hexenol include Chanel No 19 and Cristalle and Eau de Champagne (1976) by Sisley.
