Cissus rotundifoliaCissus rotundifolia is a vigorous vine with thick glossy leaves that are nearly circular. Their succulent green blades have softly toothed margins and a firm waxy surface, giving the plant a heavier texture than most grape ivies. Young angular stems carry forked tendrils opposite the leaves.The tendrils secure each extending shoot, while the fleshy foliage stores water along the climbing framework. Leaves become broader and more leathery on older sections, sometimes approaching 8 cm across, and their shallow teeth remain visible around the rounded edge. Supported vines can extend several metres and branch into a dense green screen. Small greenish flowers appear in branched clusters and may be followed by round fruit that ripens red. Wiry tendrils and substantial coin-shaped leaves keep the species easy to recognise throughout the year.
