Cistus green is all about terroir and artisanship. It is extracted from the young foliage of cistus plants growing wild in the Moroccan Atlas Mountains. It has more of the green leaf volatiles of the plant and less of the dark animalic growl of labdanum absolute (which is why it was used in perfumes like Ralph Lauren's Polo Green and Coco by Chanel). And because of the special conditions of the area in which it grows, it even has some trace elements that are unique to its type. Use it for a more modern approach to cistus. Accords with Cistus essential oil and Labdanum Light absolute are extremely special and new, and this finds itself perfectly suited to aquatics and ozonics in a way that the richer labdanum products normally don't. It loves to be with herbal notes (not surprisingly) so you must try it with Artemal, and the very nature of its colour cries out for blending with green mandarin (à la Coco). Because cistus absolute is highly viscous, we offer it pure and diluted to 50% in triethyl citrate, a completely natural, odorless plant extract. Perfect for perfumers who maintain an all-natural ingredient philosophy.
