Date: Sunday, December 6, 2026Time: 3:30 - 6:30 pm MTInstructor: Sofia Arana-Miranda, Certified Clinical Herbalist The Long Dark is a three-hour herbal intensive exploring the plants that have accompanied humans through the darker seasons and through our own cycles of descent and renewal. As winter turns the living world inward, we’ll explore what this season can teach us about intuition, rest, reflection, and the unseen.Through in-depth herbal study, sensory exploration, stillness, and shared circle, we’ll build a deeper relationship with plants traditionally associated with dreaming and liminal states. We’ll spend time with Mugwort, St. John’s Wort, Cedar, Cacao, and other significant herbs, exploring their histories, cultural and clinical uses, energetics, and the ways different traditions have understood their medicine and magic. This is an immersive study for those who want to understand the plants in context, develop a more nuanced relationship with them, and explore how herbal knowledge can meet the inward landscape of winter. We will also create our own blends to work with throughout the winter: A dream tea or bath blend and a special anointing oil to call in the light or dreaming when we need it most.We will be sitting on the ground, so please bring comfortable seating as well as a journal and pen, water bottle and snack, an herb or an object you use to connect to your own intuition or one you'd like to build a relationship with.
