Classic Red Tiger Shrimp are a striking freshwater Caridina shrimp featuring a translucent to warm reddish body covered with distinctive red tiger stripes. Their natural striped pa ttern gives every shrimp a slightly different appearance, making them an eye-catching addition to planted and shrimp-focused aquariums. An important characteristic of our Classic Red Tigers is their BLACK EYES. These are not the orange-eye variety, making them ideal for hobbyists specifically looking for the traditional black-eyed Classic Red Tiger. They are active grazers and will spend much of the day picking through moss, plants, substrate and hardscape for biofilm and other natural foods. With good water quality and a mature aquarium, they can establish a beautiful breeding colony.
