The shapes of the fragments are created using the outline of Spain on the map, as this piece was created for our Marbella Exhibition. The Fragments are in a linear position, similar to how you might find stepping stones or pebbles washed up on the shoreline. The piece is a very neutral, earthy, classic palette with a mixture of whites, stone, taupe and soft brown markings. Although the colour palette is soft, the textures created in the many layers of paint and fixed pastels mean there is so much to enjoy in every inch of this painting. Soft signature linear markings create a structure to the piece, whilst the playful placement of the stones creates a meaningful abstraction.
