Over time, these gut imbalances create systemic, low-grade inflammatory responses which can scramble the immune system, leading to overactivation of the bowels. Symptoms of sustained microbial imbalances include diarrhea, loose stool, food intolerances, and skin conditions. Additional doses of Cleanse will help bring the immune system back to balance, quell unhealthy immune responses, and improve stool consistency. * Histamine Intolerances Histamine intolerances happen when pathogens overproduce histamine, and the mucosal barrier is weak and damaged. Mucosal damage can also cause the small intestine to underproduce DAO enzymes. Often people with histamine intolerance have an overabundance of certain pathogens (bad bacteria) and also have too few beneficial bacteria (i.e., Prevotella and F. prausnitzii). This protocol can help balance teh gut bacteria and support the mucosal barrier of the small intestine. The Build-Up protocol (step 3) is where we focus on increasing the abundance of beneficial bacteria.* Food Intolerances Food intolerances are generally considered to be due to an enzyme deficiency. This may be caused by: Increased gut barrier permeability allowing the translocation of pathogens to the pancreas. This increase of pathogens in the pancreas may cause inflammation and reduce enzyme production.* A weak and/or damaged stomach barrier resulting in decreased gastric juices. Gastric juices are contributors of pepsin and HCL helping with the digestion of foods.* A lack of beneficial bacteria that produce enzymes, which can help their human host break down food.* Silver Fern’s™ approach to dealing with these issues are to help decrease pathogens and strengthen the gut barrier.* This protocol may help clean up the pathogens that may be damaging the stomach barrier. * The Ultimate Probiotic used in the Buildup Step contains two strains that can help increase enzyme production (including DAO enzyme production). This process may help with food intolerances. * Many people who experience severe bloating have an overabundance of bad bacteria in the system. These bacteria ferment fibers and produce gas that may cause bloating, abdominal cramps, and discomfort. A comprehensive response to pathogens may help reduce this fermentation of fiber allowing it to become beneficial again. By reducing bacterial load in the small intestine and repairing the body’s ability to produce enzymes, people may be able to regain food freedom. Difficult-to-digest foods should be avoided until you are a couple of months into the Build-Up Protocol. Once you get to this point in the protocol, you can slowly introduce foods into your diet again.* Diet Everyone’s circumstances are different, and we are also aware that a diet that is too strict is likely to fail. Here are some general guidelines and suggestions for a balanced approach to your diet during this protocol. Reduce or eliminate heavily processed foods Reduce or eliminate fast foods Reduce or eliminate the use of alcohol Reduce or eliminate the use of artificial sweeteners Reduce or eliminate consuming sugary foods, treats, and drinks If you are on a low FODMAP diet, continue to restrict FODMAP foods until you are 3 to 4 months into the Build Up phase If a food causes you discomfort now, please reduce or eliminate it until you are into the Build Up protocol Balance is key to sustainable results. We suggest a balanced approach to your diet. If you need a “cheat” meal or snack we understand. If you do, we recommend taking enzymes that may help your system handle it better. Side Effects: Always consult with your doctor or physician about any interactions any supplement may have with your medications or health history. When you are doing a cleanup of your system, your body is clearing out a lot of toxins. As pathogens are killed off, they release their inner contents, and their cell wall disintegrates. This debris can cause a reaction in the system, leading to die-off discomfort. If you experience intense discomfort, we recommend reducing the dose of Nano Scrub and going slower on the protocols. As you are able, slowly work back up to the suggested dosing.* Allergic reactions are not common. If you have skin irritations or other signs of allergies from these products or any products, stop using them immediately and consult your doctor. For those with a beef allergen, please do not take Cleanse (immunoglobulins). Cleanse is dairy-free, but some with beef allergens may react to immunoglobulins. * Build-Up Protocol Once you’ve completed the Cleanup protocol, we recommend moving on to the Buildup Protocol.
