First recorded in 300 B.C. by Theophrastus, it was given the name κρύσταλλος or kristallos, derived from the Greek word for "ice" as it was believed to be encapsulated in ice. In the 17th century, Nicolas Steno discovered that Quartz always meets at a 60 degree angle, regardless of its size or shape. Considered an evolutionary, energetic, and societal building block, Quartz can be found all around us, from our cellphones and medical technology to clocks and concrete.
