It is too cold to survive a Midwest winter for this subtropical vine. Surprisingly, against odds, it reclaims its existence each spring—crawling out of slumber and up the fence of the “Secret Garden”. Its blossoms are the Goddesses of summer. The stems pierce through the middle of each leaf repeating S-shapes as if they are bead components strung on the vine to flutter in warm breezes.
