Clement Attlee (3 January 1883 - 8 October 1967) was the first British Prime Minister to lead a majority Labour Government from 1945 to 1951. As leader of the opposition, Attlee wa s part of the wartime coalition government and served under Winston Churchill as Deputy Prime Minister from 1942. Following the end of the war, Attlee led the Labour Party to a landslide victory at the 1945 General Election. Attlee's government is credited with many social reforms including the foundation of the National Health Service (NHS) in 1948. This is a mini character jug approximately 11cm/4.5in in height.
