Clivers liquid extract has a fresh, herbaceous and grassy taste. The sticky, clinging nature of the Clivers plant has earned it the nickname "Velcro plant." During the 18th and 19th centuries, its seeds were roasted and brewed as a coffee substitute, likely due to their availability and resemblance to coffee flavour, especially during times when traditional coffee was scarce or inaccessible.
