The template accommodates standard clock hardware that measures 2 1/8". We provide you with this 2 piece template. The inner portion of the template is used with alignment lines to help you center your template on your clock and insure your center hole is in the correct place. Then you remove the center portion of the template and the outer piece is used to route out for the clock hardware. There will be a 1/16" clearance on each side of the hardware. There will be a 5/16" hole centered for the shaft. If you need a custom sized template just let us know! How to Use: 1. Flush Trim: Use a flush trim router bit and a palm router or table to cut the board to match the template. Set the router bearing to the template and allow the bearing to reference the side of the template all the way around. This will flush cut your wood to the template shape.6. Fine-Tune and Sand: After cutting, use sandpaper or a wood file to refine any rough edges and smooth out the surface of the board. This step is essential for achieving a polished finish and ensuring the template's design shines through beautifully.7. Finish to Perfection: Apply your preferred finish – whether it's stain, oil, epoxy, etc. – to enhance the natural beauty of the wood and protect it from wear and tear.
