Close Encounters is a three block Foundation Paper Piece pattern set that came to life through a collaboration between three quilters and an octopus! This PDF pattern is a digital item that will be delivered to your email. Important things to know before downloading the pattern: Basic understanding of Foundation Paper Piecing is required to complete this pattern. YouTube has many free tutorials available. Three FPP templates are included in this pattern - 12", 16", and 20". The 12" and 16" blocks are beginner friendly. The 20" block is designed for an advanced beginner level. Each template page is labeled with the block size and includes a 1/4" seam allowance. Print as many copies of the block patterns as desired, printing at 100% scale. Use the 1" test square to make sure your copies printed at the correct size. Use a smaller stitch length (1.5-2.0) to make tearing the foundation paper easier.
