The Cloud Microphones Cloudlifter CL-2 is a dual-channel in-line mic activator designed to boost the output of dynamic and ribbon microphones before reaching the mic preamp. The Cloud Microphones Cloudlifter CL-2 mic activator provides up to 25dB of ultra-clean and transparent gain per channel, helping your mic preamps perform more efficiently. It is a great solution for common audio problems such as hiss and crackles. Simply placing the Cloud CL-2 between your dynamic microphones and audio interface or mic preamp will deliver a much cleaner sound. It uses +48V phantom power in your mic pre or audio interface to boost the signal of your dynamic mic. Active Ultra Clean Gain Thanks to patent-pending technology, the CloudLifter CL-2 features two-stage amplification using direct-coupled Class A discrete JFET circuitry with no transformers, capacitors or resistors in the audio path. This circuit design delivers pristine gain and optimises impedance loading for dynamic and ribbon microphones. The CL-2 maintains your source's natural sound and lets your preamp work optimally. A Must-have for Ribbon Mics Like the CloudLifter CL-1, the CL-2 is the perfect partner for passive ribbon microphones. Inserting the CL-2 in-line microphone preamplifier increases the microphone signal ensuring that your ribbon microphone has enough gain with any preamp. In effect, it transforms your passive mic into an active ribbon microphone. A Tool for the Studio and Live Ideal for the studio where ribbon microphones are often used, the CL-2 also offers additional advantages for live situations. It boosts the signal in large venues, allowing you to extend it over long XLR cables while maintaining optimum sound quality. It also dramatically increases the gain before feedback ensuring your vocals cut through a mix on stage without pushing the preamp and creating unwanted feedback. The steel enclosure is extremely robust and provides effective shielding from IMF and RMF, while the included strap allows for sage mounting on stage and stand mounting. Responsibly Manufactured The ClouldLifter range is responsibly handbuilt in Tucson, USA, and uses exclusively environmentally friendly methods. They also come with a Lifetime warranty for parts and labour.
