Cloudy Dream #2 — a single peach-warm cloud drifting low through a sky graded from pale lilac at the top to butter, then the faintest mint at the base. Most of the frame is empty, and that emptiness is the point. The cloud holds the last of the sun's warmth on its upper edge while its underside cools into shadow, the kind of light that arrives about twenty minutes before evening commits to itself. Echoes the soft colour fields of Rothko and the long pastels of late James Turrell — held in a photographic register, no horizon line, no figure, just air.The second piece in the Cloudy Dream series, and the warmest of its skies. Where #1 leans cooler — more lilac, more shadow under the cloud — this frame lets peach and butter dominate, with the cloud sitting slightly lower so the upper sky has room to breathe.
