The accumulation of sludge within the pond or filter system means far more than just an unhealthy sight, such solids will not only reduce important saturated oxygen levels but also become a detrimental breeding ground for nasty pathogenic bacteria. Sludge answer should be added at a rate of 100ml per 1000 ltrs of pond water, can be followed up every 28 days with a maintenance dose; especially for ponds with persistent problems at a rate of 50ml per 1000 ltrs. Mix with 3 litres of pond water & apply to pond surface & into the filter system, uvcs should be turned off for the first 24 hours after application.
