Coastal Mirage Thirsty Sound, Queensland Limited Edition - 1 only. I had flown over Thirsty Sound that morning during high tide, enroute to the Whitsundays. The water looked like a muddy brown and was rather unappealing. With the highest tides on the Australian east coast, upwards of 9 metres, I knew things would be different if I returned later in the day at low tide. When I returned, the transformation was remarkable. The retreating water had exposed intricate tidal flats — flowing lines, soft textures, and shifting tones that seemed painted by nature itself. Every tide tells a new story, and this one revealed patterns I’d never seen before. I’ve chosen to release only one unique artwork of this piece, to symbolise the singular moment this landscape revealed itself before being swallowed again by the sea. The artwork is printed on Ilford Smooth Cotton Rag and framed in a raw timber shadow box frame.
