These handmade clay coasters are individually decorated which makes each within the set a unique item. Each set of four is fired in the kiln at the same time so that the set has the best chance of matching...but even then, variation occurs and gives unique qualities to each set.The iridescence on the pieces is a hallmark of LickinFlames. It has a lot to do with the makeup of the glaze (we make our own) but also with the firing process itself. The tile take about a month to dry and then the finishing can take place. When the coasters are removed from the kiln, placed in an oxygen starved atmosphere and cooled, each is then washed, dried and cork bumpers are added to the bottom to protect your furniture.
