The Coban 2 Two-Layer Compression System, made by Solventum (formerly 3M), delivers compression therapy for venous leg ulcers and other conditions where compression forms part of the treatment plan. It is a two-layer system: a Comfort Layer worn against the skin and a Compression Layer over the top, supplied as two rolls that work together as a single wrap. Who it is for Coban 2 supports the management of venous leg ulcers, oedema and lymphoedema, and other conditions where compression therapy is appropriate. It is intended for patients with an ABPI (ankle brachial pressure index) of 0.8 or greater. A trained clinician should assess the limb and confirm that compression is suitable before it is applied. Key features Two-layer system: a Comfort Layer plus a Compression Layer, supplied as two rolls Can be left in place for up to 7 days on the leg, so changes are needed less often Designed to stay in place and resist slippage once applied Not made with natural rubber latex, and not irritating or sensitising How to use Apply the Comfort Layer first, then the Compression Layer over the top, following the manufacturer's application technique. The compression delivered depends on correct application, so Coban 2 is intended for use by, or under the direction of, a suitably trained health professional.
