This is a "Universal" style valve designed to be used with our COBB 715500 Front Mount Intercooler Kit for the 2008-2014 Subaru STI or other custom configurations that call for a 1" bypass valve inlet. A bypass valve with the COBB LF BPV's small size and lightweight can withstand very high boost pressure without leaking. With its redesigned design, the control volume is 30% lower, enabling incredibly quick boost venting when activated. Innovative engineering and careful manufacturing combine to create a small package that can fit into a small engine bay. The LF BPV's moving parts have less inertia and may react more quickly than heavier components in conventional bypass valves because of the components' low weight. This redesigned design makes use of a vacuum port with a Banjo fitting that allows for 360-degree hose routing adjustment. Compared to NPT ports, this results in a simpler installation process and fewer potential leak spots. Additionally, the piston o-ring seal in the new design has an expanded diameter that allows for greater seal compression and less wear. Due to the improved spring and seal design, which offers a 60% increase in clamping force at peak boost while maintaining similar performance at idle and transient loads, the spring seat's adjustment is no longer required.
