A historic Italian aperitif from Piemonte, first created in 1891 by Giulio Cocchi, and still made to the original recipe today. Technically an aromatised wine (closer to a quinquin a than true vermouth), it sits right between vermouth and bitter liqueur in style. Bright, complex and unmistakable, it combines a white wine base (often Moscato) with a blend of botanicals including gentian, wormwood, cinchona (quinine), bitter orange peel and elderflower.
