Imagine the smell of smashed chunks of chocolate slowly warming in your hands and releasing their enticing aroma; white chocolate, dark chocolate, milk chocolate and every variety in between. From V. MANE Fils comes a truly wonderful cocoa resinoid extracted with ethanol rather than harsh chemicals and made practical with the addition of natural odourless triethyl citrate — our own personal favourite when it comes to natural diluents and dilutants. Cocoa resinoids and absolutes are famously difficult to work with and all suppliers tend to offer the virtually impossible pure product which all need diluting not just to render them usable but also because cocoa is a very strong material (deceptively so). This beautiful resinoid is clean, powder, richly chocolate and wonderfully clean. There are no off notes and no surprises. It's just good chocolate. Some of our favourite combos are Wild Cherry and Cocoa Absolute with a touch of Rum P. Jungle Essence for a crazily good Cherry Chocolate Liqueur accord or blend it with all the rich orris materials to enhance and enrich their powdery side, just as master perfumer Olivier Polge did in the now near-mythical 2005 original Dior Homme Intense.
