Codiaeum variegatum (Croton) 'Mammi'Codiaeum variegatum ‘Mammi’ has narrow leathery leaves that twist, curl and spiral along their length. Green, yellow, orange, red and deep purple run through the glossy blades as broad streaks and irregular patches. Every leaf bends differently, revealing several colours and both faces around the same shoot.Fresh growth begins greener and yellower near the branch tips. Red, orange and burgundy intensify as the foliage hardens, giving older sections a warmer, darker mixture. The compact shrub branches from woody stems, and each new shoot adds another cluster of curled leaves. A full plant becomes a dense arrangement of loops and twists with very little repeated geometry: narrow yellow-green opening blades stand near the centre, while heavier red-purple foliage coils around the outer branches.
