Codling moth (Cydia pomonella) pheromone is for use with sticky traps for regular monitoring. Used for early warning of an infestation and to inform IPM strategies. Codling moth (C ydia pomonella) pheromone lures are used to attract the male moth to the sticky trap. Regular monitoring via the traps gives an early warning of a Codling moth infestation. The traps also exhibits the density of the insect population to inform successful IPM strategies. If an infestation is left untreated then there is a risk of 95% crop loss.
