This is our fourth year with this coffee and we are so psyched to share it with you once again! Dehab Bitewlign has been working hard her whole life – she’s a mom, a wife, an accountant, and most recently an amazing coffee producer! When she first began her work in coffee, she only knew that it was the first drink of the day in every home in Ethiopia. She remembers boiling coffee for her mother, but that is where her experience ended. For 2 years after taking charge of her farm she studied with agronomists and consultants, often traveling to various coffee exhibitions. In 2015 she began exporting to Germany and soon afterward to the US. Dehab’s farms are in the buffer and core zones of the UNESCO Kaffa Forest biosphere, a large area (540,000 hectares) of protected forest. Only farms working within strict environmental guidelines friendly to climate protection are allowed. We are thrilled to have Dehab’s Diamond back here at Larry’s! We teamed up with our friends at Artisan Coffee Imports who specialize in women owned coffee farms.
