Maintaining and cleaning your coffee grinder is an important process that has a direct impact on the flavour of your brewed coffee, whether you're grinding espresso for lattes or g rinding in a hand grinder for your next pour over coffee by cleaning and brushing away the residual coffee grounds you're able to prevent contamination of old grounds and particles in your coffee and in turn have cleaner and better tasting coffee. Start by disassembling your coffee grinder, follow the coffee grinders manual and avoid disassembling further than needed. For instance on the Comandante C40 grinder it is important not to remove the screws as this affects the alignment of the outer burr set. Brush all the components including the burr set to remove fine coffee grounds, oils and chaff. Use an air duster to blow the coffee grounds out of the chamber and then repeat step 2 and this step until there is minimal coffee grounds remaining. Using a slightly damp cloth wipe away any remaining coffee oils and dirt stuck on the internal grinder body.
