Coffee is deeply rooted in Palestinian tradition, daily life, and society. Dating back to the Ottoman rule, coffee and its culture in Palestine perseveres through many political, economic, and military blockades and stands as something more than just a beverage. Due to uncertainty and daily struggle of life in Palestine, coffee has acted as a symbol of something greater than life under Israeli apartheid. Crafted showcasing the tighter fishnet and olive leaves on a black base, the traditional pattern woven in a coffee colour is an ode to the “Qahwe Arbiya” or Arabic Coffee. ▽ All 4 edges / hem (hadb) are decorated with knotted tassels. All 4 corners are decorated with a balled cotton tassel. Made from a blend of cotton and high quality synthetic, the Coffee Kufiyah measures approximately 122 x 122 cm (48” x 48”).
