Coir fibers used t o make this mat are extracted from coconut husks, which are otherwise wasted. Each mat uses fiber from about 16 coconuts. The fiber is converted to yarn and then used to make these versatile doormats. The backing for this mat is made of natural latex harvested from rubber trees grown in managed plantations. The naturally resilient coir mat scrapes mud, sand, water and dirt off shoes and the natural latex backing is slip resistant and durable.
