Native to the Caucasus region, this resilient little plant thrives in well-drained, rocky soils and is perfectly suited to rockeries, alpine gardens, gravel paths, dry stone walls and the front of borders.With a neat, mat-forming habit, Silene schafta gradually spreads to create a dense carpet of small, lance-shaped mid-green foliage that becomes smothered in vibrant blooms just as many other plants are fading.
