The spheres, or grapes, have a vitality and smooth appearance, yet are lifted from the pedestal, an interesting contrast to the heavy weight of marble. The clustering form appears as if grown together rather than shaped, an accretion of smooth volumes evoking seeds, cells, or a botanical bloom. The tactile surface invites touch, while the deep green veining adds visual movement, recalling the vitality of natural systems and the way the stone formed in the soil over decades. The name, Collecta Verde (“green gathering”), speaks to the object’s dual nature, at once architectural and biological, structured and soft. Resting atop a marble column, the whole object becomes a study in contrasts: rounded and square, heavy and light.
