Colocasia esculenta ‘Redemption’Colocasia esculenta ‘Redemption’ combines glossy purple-black leaves with a hot-pink centre and branching pink veins. The blades have a corrugated, rippled surface that breaks the dark colour into changing highlights. On well-developed leaves, the central pink area can occupy a large part of the blade before narrowing into veins towards the margins.New foliage emerges green and darkens rapidly as it opens, while the pink centre becomes broader and more saturated on later growth. Basal shoots produce a tight clump roughly 1–1.2 m tall and wide, with the largest black leaves held above the younger centre. Colour continues to strengthen through warm active growth. A developed clump can show green opening blades, polished black foliage and neon-pink markings at several stages of intensity at once.
