Antica Barbieria Colla has been Milan's barbershop since 1904, still run today by the Bompieri family. The cologne takes its name from its number in the line, and its number from its position in the house: first among four, made by a barbershop that has been at Via Gerolamo Morone since 1904. The opening is bergamot and citrus - bright, quickly resolved. The heart is jasmine, which here is neither sweet nor powdery but full, almost alive, lifted by an ozone note that keeps it from settling into the familiar. Gardenia accompanies. The base is moss and patchouli, rich and lasting, and this is where the scent finally settles and where it spends most of its time on skin. The clients who buy it from Via Gerolamo Morone often find they are buying it for two. Their wives and partners take it. This is, in the end, a reliable measure of a good scent. 100ml. In a glass bottle. Hand-made in Italy. Exclusive to Australia.
