It wasn’t until she met her husband, Jhonatan Gasca, a coffee producer, that she began her journey into the world of coffee. Inspired by his passion, Alejandra has embraced specialty coffee with determination and care. The Zarza farm sits at 1540 MASL, where Alejandra and Jhonatan focus on sustainable farming, cultivating a mix of coffee varieties under native shade trees. Their innovative approach includes a meticulous double fermentation process, enhancing the complexity and clarity of their coffee. Women play an essential role in coffee production, and Alejandra is proud to be part of this movement. Through her work, she is helping to sustain her family’s legacy while carving out a new path for women in Colombian coffee.
