The coffee is grown at elevations between 1,700 and 2,100 metres above sea level. ardín is one of Colombia’s most renowned coffee landscapes, located in the Western Andes. Its high elevations, combined with nutrient-rich volcanic soils, create ideal conditions for slow cherry maturation. This gradual ripening contributes to the coffee’s natural sweetness and refined acidity. The region also benefits from well-distributed rainfall and two annual harvests, allowing for a consistent supply of fresh, high-quality parchment throughout the year. Since May 2022, following the closure of the local cooperative, Helvetia has operated a strategic purchase point in Jardín. This has created a direct route to the specialty market for local producers, reducing the need for intermediaries and helping farmers secure better premiums for their coffee. The model also supports long-term relationships based on transparency, shared growth and continued development. Through this connection, Helvetia also leads sustainability and certification programmes designed to support the environmental, social and economic wellbeing of the region. This decaffeinated lot represents the character of Jardín’s traditional coffee varieties and the careful work of generational farming families. Even after decaffeination, the coffee retains the distinctive qualities of the local microclimate, offering the sweetness, balance and elegance for which coffees from Antioquia are widely recognised.
