COLOMBIA - 100% ARABICA This Colombian coffee is a standout for James, our Head of Production. He describes it as a delicate cup with subtle hints of citrus, and for a washed coffee, he’s pleasantly surprised by the range of flavours it delivers. Personally, my favourite way to brew it is using the Origami & V60 drippers, though I’m confident this coffee would shine no matter the brewing method. We’ve built a close relationship with Racafe in Colombia, sourcing from their farmers every year. In May 2022, our head of coffee, Steve Hampshire, visited the farms in the Bolivar region and was astonished by the steepness of the hills where farmers harvest the coffee cherries. During the visit, Steve also gained valuable insights into the challenges farmers face on their estates, which prompted us to pay more for the coffee which directly supporting improvements in farm infrastructure. The premium added on to the coffee we buy from Racafe goes to the farmers and producers in a number of ways, it mainly helps farmers with there sustainability practices which will then help them protect the future of their farm and livelihood, as well as increasing the quality of their coffee.
