But sadly, this beautiful region was at the center of the armed guerilla conflict, which for too long dramatically impacted producers’ ability to conduct their coffee businesses. More recently, growers have been able to access grants and programs that enable them to invest in their farms. Many producers also have been able to meet multiple certifications, which enables them to negotiate higher prices for their superior products.
