It finally happened. We took two things people love— yarn and having strong opinions about yarn—and turned it into a fully organized, slightly chaotic, absolutely unforgettable event. Welcome to Yarn Tasting Speed Dating. When: Saturday, September 19th from 1-4 pm. 💘 Here’s how it works: You’ll rotate through 10 different yarns like you’re on a very niche dating show. You will cast on 15 stitches at the first station and then the timer begins! At each station, you’ll have 10 minutes to: Meet the yarn Cast on (or jump in) Knit or crochet a bit Form immediate and possibly dramatic opinions Then—just when you’re getting attached—you rotate. Because commitment is scary. But also… you might come back for it later. At the end, we will do the big reveal and crown your: Best in Show Biggest Surprise The One That Betrayed You Because not all yarns are emotionally stable. What’s included: 10 curated yarns to try (no guessing, actual touching, but in a public, socially acceptable way) A very official tasting card so you can document your feelings A beverage + snack pairing at every single “date” (yes, every yarn comes with its own little moment—because we are nothing if not committed to the theme) The option to purchase anything you fall in love with (this is where things get dangerous) Lively commentary from Tracy that will most certainly not help you find your next obsession but will make the event interesting, to be sure. The important details: Bring your own needles or hook for DK weight yarn (so you can keep your swatches like the tiny trophies they are) Need tools? What to expect: You will have a favorite You will be surprised You will absolutely judge at least one yarn harshly You may walk out with yarn you didn’t plan to buy We support you through all of it. Spots are limited because too many people + too much yarn + snacks = chaos we cannot legally manage.
