The Common Contaminants Soil Test Kit will allow you to test your soil for the most common contaminants found in elevated levels in New Zealand residential soils: asbestos and heavy metals (arsenic, cadmium, chromium, copper, lead, mercury, nickel and zinc). What's in the Kit: Sampling Instructions Sample bag/s Gloves Sample Submission Form Pre-Paid Sample Return Courier Bag IANZ accredited laboratory analysis of your sample/s for heavy metals (x8) and asbestos including lab report confirming any heavy metal levels and whether asbestos is present. Professional assessment of your results from a qualified and experienced contaminated land specialist. Your assessment report will include a comparison of your heavy metal results against the relevant New Zealand Human Health Standards. It will include suggestions for next steps and where to find more information if soil contamination is identified. If you don't already have the necessary PPE to safely take the sample for asbestos testing, then in addition to this test kit you will need an Asbestos Sampling PPE Kit which is available separately here. Please note: The asbestos test only provides a positive or negative result and does not provide the level of asbestos if it is found to be present. This test kit and the report that you will receive is designed for personal use and cannot be used as evidence eg; for resource consent application. Turnaround time for test results: You will receive your professional assessment report including laboratory results 10 working days from the date your soil sample is received by our office.
