The material is 12.5oz selvedge (red-edge) denim made from American cotton, woven on an old-fashioned shuttle loom, a globally recognized premium material. It's slightly thin with a hint of stretch, so it combines a heavy, vintage look with lightness and comfort. Rigid denim is attractive for its beautiful appearance, but it shrinks significantly with home washing and bleeds color so severely that your hands turn blue from the indigo dye. re.birth wash is a process where the denim is washed (rinsed) once, then starched again with a non-water-soluble starch to restore its unprocessed appearance. This allows you to choose the perfect size from the start, reduces color fading, minimizes pilling after washing, and maintains the rigid look for longer. This jacket is packed with meticulous details, including pure silver-plated buttons and copper rivets. The fabric is made in Hiroshima Prefecture, while the sewing and washing are done in Miyagi Prefecture. While Japanese jeans made in Okayama are world-famous, it is said that the first jeans in Japan were sewn by Watanabe Sewing in Gunma Prefecture. Watanabe Sewing relocated to Miyagi Prefecture in the 1970s and continues to manufacture jeans in the same factory there today.
