Instructions and usage tips Remove the lid and add 3-4 Tablespoons of raw, organic apple cider vinegar or add a poultry water protector, such as First Saturday Lime, to prevent algae. Fill with 5 gallons of water and close the lid, ensuring a secure fit. Remove all other water sources and gather chickens around the waterer. Tap the nipples until water fills the lip (the red color naturally attracts chickens.) Once one chicken begins drinking, the others are sure to follow! Check water levels daily (or longer) depending on your flock size, and refill as needed. Discard any stale water before refilling.
