Why Use them? This kit includes sockets to upgrade your Commodore 64 Breadbin computer to a fully socketed motherboard. Socket style may vary from photo. IC sockets provide many ad vantages in IC design, assembly, test, upgrade, andmaintenance. Some very early C64 motherboards had full socket sets but slowly these were removed as a cost saving measure. Some revisions require a different socket set.
