I made this series of smaller boards for the jobs that don't require pulling out a full-size cutting board—chopping garlic or onions, quick kitchen prep, or packing a real wood board when you're traveling. Board #465 combines Spalted Maple, Cherry and Walnut in a compact composition, with the natural markings in the Spalted Maple bringing an entirely different kind of detail to the straighter lines where the three woods meet. A short, compact handle makes it easy to grab from the counter and gives the board another option when the cutting is done: use it for a small serving job.
