Compound Elixir is our internal formula for Le Male Elixir by Jean Paul Gaultier. Launched in 2023 and created by Givaudan's Quentin Bisch, this is an amber fougère fragrance that amplifies the DNA of the iconic 1995 original into something richer, sweeter and more intense. This compound features a bold lavender accord lifted by cool mint in the opening, transitioning quickly into a creamy, resinous heart of vanilla and benzoin. The base delivers warm honey, nutty tonka bean and a subtle tobacco note that adds depth without heaviness. The result is a sweet, gourmand-leaning masculine with outstanding projection and longevity of eight to ten hours – confident and unapologetically warm. As with most of Bisch's fragrances, the original contains a number of Givaudan captives. Our captive replacer bases are arguably equal to the products they substitute, and paired with our exceptionally high-quality raw materials library, the result is a compound we believe surpasses the original.
